Through this number, we’ll be providing you with important communications like appointment reminders, test results, prescription refill reminders, follow-up messages, and other important updates- all sent directly to your mobile device.

Franciscan Alliance and its affiliates use a unique 5-digit “short code” for official text messages. This shorter number, recognized by all major US carriers, is dedicated to secure communication from Franciscan Alliance.  There are two ways to opt out of receiving text messages:

  • Option 1: Communication Preferences. You can set your preferences to be notification-specific, meaning you can receive your appointment reminders by text and billing notifications by email. You can also turn off certain notifications from both if you prefer. Review Managing Communication Preferences in MyChart for more information.

 

  • Option 2: Text STOP to 32056.  This will unsubscribe you from all text notifications, including reminders about visits, MyChart account updates, one-time passcodes, billing notices, prescription alerts, test results, and care management.

Patients and proxies of Franciscan Alliance and its affiliates/partners can receive notifications about their care via email, text messages, and push notifications to the MyChart app.  The subject of these notifications include:

  • Appointment Reminders/Updates
  • New Messages in MyChart
  • New Results Available in MyChart
  • Video Visit Join Links
  • Care Plan Reminders

Any marketing or bulk messaging is sent separately so you can have confidence that the notifications you receive are about your care.

 

Notification Channels

Notifications can be sent in multiple ways and can be configured based on your preferences.  You can customize your notification to get each reminder in the way you would like to see them.  We send notifications via the following methods:

  • SMS/Text Message. Most common for time-sensitive notifications.
    • New Feature: Single Sender Number.  We now send all text notifications from a single number (32056) so you can have confidence that this message did come from Franciscan Alliance or one of its affiliates/partners.
    • New Feature: Reply via Text.  We will soon enable features to allow the ability to reply directly from the text message to manage appointments and pay bills.
  • Push Notifications. Similar to text messages, these are available on devices that have the MyChart application installed. You must enable alerts from the app on that device and have an active MyChart account.
  • E-Mail. Available for items that are typically less urgent.
  • Automated Voice Calls. We can send automated voice notifications for those that wish to receive them.

MyChart users can update and manage their own communication preferences or can call the Engagement Center at 1-833-936-1385 for assistance updating their preferences.  Review Managing Communication Preferences in MyChart for more information.

 

Notification Content and Privacy

You can choose how you want to receive certain notifications by setting your MyChart communication preferences.  Depending on the nature of the message, you can choose to receive it via email, text, push notifications from the MyChart app – or all three!
