Notifications (Feature Updates Coming!)
Updates to our notifications are coming on November 20, 2024! This topic refers to both currently available features and new features. To help, any new features will be identified with “Coming Soon:”
Patients and proxies of Franciscan Alliance and its affiliates/partners can receive notifications about their care via email, text messages, and push notifications to the MyChart app. The subject of these notifications include:
- Appointment Reminders/Updates
- New Messages in MyChart
- New Results Available in MyChart
- Video Visit Join Links
- Care Plan Reminders
Any marketing or bulk messaging is sent separately so you can have confidence that the notifications you receive are about your care.
Notification Channels
Notifications can be sent in multiple ways and can be configured based on your preferences. You can customize your notification to get each reminder in the way you would like to see them. We send notifications via the following methods:
- SMS/Text Message. Most common for time-sensitive notifications.
- Coming Soon: Single Sender Number. Currently, text notifications could come from one of several phone numbers. Soon, we will consolidate to a single number (32056) so you can have confidence that this message did come from Franciscan Alliance or one of its affiliates/partners.)
- Coming Soon: Reply via Text. We will soon enable features to allow the ability to reply directly from the text message to manage appointments and pay bills.
- Push Notifications. Similar to text messages, these are available on devices that have the MyChart application installed. You must enable alerts from the app on that device and have an active MyChart account.
- E-Mail. Available for items that are typically less urgent.
- Automated Voice Calls. We can send automated voice notifications for those that wish to receive them.
MyChart users can update and manage their own communication preferences
Notification Content and Privacy

Yes, patients can view our Privacy Practices Notice of Privacy Practices | Franciscan Health or contact our HIPAA Privacy Officer at (855) 459-7573.
If you:
- Aren’t receiving expected text alerts or reminders
- Think you might have previously opted out of text reminders via typing “STOP”
Text “START” to 844-516-7917. You should see a message in response similar to the one below:
Log into MyChart and from the left menu, go to the Preferences section and select the appropriate option.
